OK. I saw a rumor posted on another newsgroup that George Lucas is
considering a TV series based on the Star Wars films. I also heard Kevin
Smith (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Jersey Girl) mentioned as
someone they might consider to helm it, but no word on if any formal
discussions of that had taken place.

This led me to a couple of questions.

1. What time period would it be set in? Clone wars? Between Episode III and
Episode IV? Over the course of the original trilogy? The time after the
battle of Endor?

2 TheWouldn't there have to be a lot of new characters, etc.?

The only person I think could do it - I mean, really do it - would be J.
Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5, Jerimiah) he is the only person with TV
Experience that I can think of who could pull it off and get the scale of
it.

I think it'd be a great idea, it would certainly be the job of a lifetime...I
just don't think the friendly folks at ILM know me well enough to think of me
for this. But if anybody over there reading this wants to put in a good word,
feel free.
