I know this sort of thing has been asked before and sometimes it's 
intentional and more often then not, it's a coincidence. But I just 
finished reading The Silmarillion and noticed "the Valar" and then it 
struck me that the word is similar to "Valen".

Coincidence or hommage? ;)
