A question has come up on one of the mailing lists I'm on,
following the announcement there of the creation of the official B5 fan
club. Since the application specifies payment in US dollars, people
there are wondering how to get their funds into US currency. Someone
suggested using Eurochecks, which, within the boundaries of Europe,
allow the check writer to specify the currency of the transaction on a
check by check basis. Will Eurochecks be acceptable, or will foreign
subscribers need to buy a check or money-order in US funds from some
monetary service that can write drafts against a US bank? People there
are really hot to trot (someone said that he would be willing to pay US
$30 to join if he knew how to get the money into the right currency) and
just want to know how to pay for their memberships.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

We just had a meeting today about the fan club, and in response to some of
the questions here about the UK, we're investigating how best to handle
this to make it easier for folks outside the US to get involved. We hope
to have some answers soonish, so UKers might want to wait just a bit
before sending in their subs.
