Glad to hear the best is yet to come! Season 3 has got me so
hooked, I'm almost sorry to hear you've finished the last script.
(the keyword being "almost". Bring on season 4!!!)
And while we're on the subject of writing...I'm almost positive
that with all the well-wishers and nit-pickers out there at least
one person noticed that in "Messages from Earth" Andreas Katsulas
is seen writing the "Book of G'Kar" with his right hand while in
the close up shot the script is being written left-handed. Just
the teeniest of blemishes on an otherwise jaw-droppingly good ep.
Acting, music, effects, script, everything. Way to go Joe!

HMM,
I don't think that I'm the only one watching here in
Louisville... yes you are getting noticed. After all, Star Trek
(no extension) wasn't popular until after getting cancelled --
then again your show IS well written, unlike Star Trek.
By the way, maybe someone on the business end of PTEN could
tell the local station (WDRB-41) to make up its mind what time to
show B5. Lately it's been 6 on Sunday, which is fine, but during
football season it could be broadcast at any day or time.
Since I'm home sick, and don't have anything else better to do,
I've a few archive questions:
1. In the dream sequence where Kosh and Ivonova reach Sheridan's
mind:
Was Ivonova in his mind or was it all Kosh? If it was Ivonova,
then how did Gerbaldi get there or was he Kosh, as the latter
appeared as someone else in G'kar 's mind? And who was that
fourth person in dream?
2. Are you going to leave the contradiction about Sinclair being
the last Captain of B5, as stated on the Premiere, as is or are
you going to work it out so that that isn't a contradiction at
all?
3. Also in the premiere, wasn't Delenn's attack on G'kar out of
character?

I just read the transcript of your phone conversation with the DC
group. (Zocalo newsletter) You discussed your script writing book
that should soon be available. You also mentioned that your
scripts are always long and so there is always some stuff cut out
during filming.
My question: Is there a possibility that you could publish your
collection of complete, uncut scripts? It would be great to see
all the little extra things that had to be kept out.
PS, I've forwarded your question on the Syndicon convention to
the appropriate people. Hopefully you will get the info tonite
(they are pretty prompt) and will consider coming to San
Francisco. We'd love to see you there!

Congratulations on a long, hard job well done. The show keeps
getting better and better. You've packed enough action into one
season to supply two or more good shows with ample storylines.

What's reason got to do with it? It's a force within that's
irresistible. Much like the demon that's driving me to be the sole
author of a large entertainment software project. Keeping the
demon on a leash can be an occupational hazard.

Hello,
You mentioned, a while ago, that your CTS had gotten so bad that
it was shooting up your lower arm into the elbow.
When I read that, I thought: "Thank God my CTS is not THAT bad."
I guess I shouldn't have thought that.
It started happening today. The pain is really bad. So I have a
health question for you (you don't get THOSE often... <hg>): How
do you ice your wrists / arms? You put ice water into a bowl and
stick your arms in or what?
Any advice (in shorthand maybe...) would be greatly appreciated.
[This reminds me of Super Dave Osborne: "Whoa! New pain!" <sigh>]

Ice packs are usually good. "Blue Ice" they call it, which can
be repeatedly refrigerated and doesn't melt. Wear wrist braces. There
are also a number of available exercises that can help.

About extension into season 4, Joe wrote:
> We won't know until late April.
That could potentially be good, I might imagine as that is in the
middle of the 8 ep long new episode block which is always a time
when B5 ratings are up. Or doesn't it make a difference by then,
as the decisions are made in late April based on data picked from,
say, February?

Hello.
Watched PoNR and have to say I loved it and think it's your best
work yet this season. I enjoyed it more than MfE. I wasn't
surprised by events in either episode (what with spoilers here and
the clues you've been leaving in the story to date), but I felt
real tension and uncertainty in PoNR that I just didn't feel in
MfE. Both were very good episodes, don't get me wrong, but I
somehow feel I have to justify liking PoNR better than MfE
considering how many people (yourself included) have stated that
MfE was the best yet. :-)
I have one semi-related question. Someone asked you if it was
"Nightwatch" or "Night Watch," and you sated that it is a single
word, "Nightwatch." When watching PoNR, I noticed a fairly close
shot of a NW arm band and the name on the band is separated into
the two words "Night" and "Watch." Was this an something that
slipped by unnoticed, or is it just a result of the design of the
arm band?
Thanks!

It's probably a result of the printing on the armband as it
goes around. The posters are all one-word.
I think you hit the distinction between MfE and PoNR...the
former is exciting, the latter is tense, with "Severed Dreams" a good
blend of the two, particularly the latter. We did our final producer's
cut today, and man, it moves....

heart-ache as things fall apart, excitement, tension, disbeliefe,
and so on. I, for some reason, really wanted to tell you this (I

guilty about reactions to a tv show - but we all owe something to
you making yourself so accesible). So - you've kept a viewer (not
