Joe,

I attended the San Diego ComicCon and found some obviously illegal
merchandise and some I wasn't sure about. On the illegal side
were VHS tapes (copied from PAL format) which were actually playing
on a television they had. The others were "Stamper" sets (4 sets in
all) which consisted of an ink pad and 2 stamps of various B5 ships
along with small replicas of the ships on the stamp and "Bubble
Buddies" which were ships on top of a small container of liquid.
These items were aimed at young children, which seemed a bit odd
with all of us adults clamoring for B5 merchandise and since I
hadn't heard of them before, I was wondering if these items are
legal.

The stamper sets and bubble bath stuff are legit; the videotapes are not.

Given JMS's perverse sense of humor, the stuff is more likely to be used by
Garibaldi.

"BUBBLE BATH??!!"

The stuff is being sold under the overall heading "BUBBLE BUDDIES."

How could I *not* approve something like that?

I brought one back with me from SDCC (no, I hadn't gotten one yet), and
our co producer George Johnsen did fifteen minutes on that one.
