In the April '96 issue of Sci-Fi Entertainment magazine on page 53, JMS
said, "We're already sold for 1998."......"when TNT will start showing
the series. I believe that, by 2000, we'll have a bigger following than
we do now, if only because TNT is on everywhere."

So B5 fifth season was renewed a long time ago, right? So why there are
news that fifth season may not be renew this year? Everyone was waiting
and hoping that B5 would be renewed. "WE'RE ALREADY SOLD FOR 1998", said
JMS. 

I'm new to this newsgroup and missed any news from 4/96 to 5/97.

Sigh....

This referred SPECIFICALLY AND ONLY to the first four seasons, which had
been sold to TNT to begin broadcast in 1998.  At the time of this
interview, which was several months before April, as far as I know, TNT
probably hadn't even been talked to about a fifth season.
