Hi,

I watch B5 in the Toronto area. I notice that the sound is often so low on
the program, that the voices are muffled and difficult to hear. Yesterday,
I turned the volume up all the way on my TV, and I could barely hear the
show. When a commercial kicked in, it was so loud that I was startled by
the sudden volume rise. Has anyone else here been experiencing the same
kind of phenomenon? Is it the way the sound is done on the show, or is it
something due to my local station which carries it?

Regards

Steve

Steve-

It is most assuredly NOT the way the sound is done on the show. We do
take advantage ofthe extra dynamic range offered by digital post
production, and that sometimes results in a 2 or 3 db difference between
us and the commercials, but not the phenomenon you describe. I would
love to speak with your affiliate to see if there is some help we can
offer.
