Joe,

I've been trying my best to get together a set of B5 trading cards, and
I read your posts about being a fan, and I get quite upset. I've bought
all the B5 trading card packs that I can find in the northern Detroit
suburbs and I've managed to buy about 2 1/2 boxes already.

 In 2 1/2 boxes I *didn't* get a full set. $200 bucks later!

You said you stood in lines for autographs, you said merchandise would
have to be first rate, you said you'll approve everything or it's nothing,
and I can't beleieve you let these "sets" go like this!

Do you realize there's only 1 autograph card to about every 690 packs?
that's 1 for every 14 boxes or so, and about 1100 total. There are a
_hell_ of a lot more than 1100 fans out there ... :) If I want to find one,
that means another 11 1/2 boxes, for a final cost of about $700 or more,
assuming I can even find more boxes, there's only 16,000 total!

I have ten, yes *TEN* basic cards sets, and not all the inserts. I ...
I .... I am lost for words.

I just can't believe you approved this.

OBVIOUSLY, you are not a real fan, if you don't buy a television add for the
sole purpose of obtaining an autographed jms card.

Seriously, though, the point is that jms spent a lot of time signing cards, which
is something he DID NOT HAVE TO DO. Whenever he sits around at conventions
until the line is empty, he is giving his own time. He does have a day job that I
think is more important than making sure everybody gets a signed card. I'm sure
that the next time you see him at a convention, he'll be glad to sign more things
for you.

It's not the signature that counts, anyway, it's the obtaining of the signature.
At a convention, waiting in line for hours, then finally *meeting* an important
person...that's the fun part. Otherwise, it's just a scribble on a piece of paper.

Cool. 'Cause now when I go to Michigan on vacation, I can see B5!

(I WANT ONE, TOO.....)

Thing about the autographed cards...there was no money involved in this,
it was done as a cool thing for the fans. (Okay, I *did* ask for a full
set of the Kingdom Come cardset, because I didn't want to run all over the
planet running down chase cards)...and man, you have NO idea how long it
takes to sign 900 cards. Hours, I tell you...hours and hours.

I suppose I could've signed more, to make more available to fans, but my
right hand fell off and it took a day and a half to stich it back on
again.
