As a writer, the influences would really tend to be early ones, so I'd
cite Eric Frank Russell, HP Lovecraft, Bradbury, Ellison, Tolkein, Clarke and
"Doc" Smith as being at the top of the roster. In terms of television, it'd be
Serling, Matheson, Corwin, again Bradbury and Ellison, and Charles Beaumont.

Howdy, Joe;

I was just watching 404 again, and during the closing credits, it suddenly
dawned on me: Ardwight's out of a job!

Do you have any plans to use his very distinctive voice in the future?

Thanks,

  -- Brent

P.S. Loved 417, but work demands aren't giving me enough free time to write
about it in any detail. Good stuff.

Hi Joe,

Hope everythings OK with you. The telepaths in Edgars facility seemed to
have lesions where the shadow implants were. Were these scars from removal?

       No, just standard lesions.

Remember, a man as smart and rich as Edgars can surely afford private
lesions for his "kids."

Joe,

Wow! Geez, um, ah, Wow! What an episode. That was awesome, that was amazing,
that needs an Emmy award for best dramatic presentation. I was totally blown
away by it all. I sat there watching and the whole scene where Sherridan is
picked up, the lighting, the music, everything was just - wow! When they were
"detaining" him in that scene, all I could think of was the news clip when the
cops were beating Rodney King over and over. Then the look on Garabaldi's
face. My boyfriend thought that he looked on with regret, I thought it was
indifference. He was so - cold. The scenes with Sherridan in captivity were
very though-provoking and the cut away to the ISN reports. All I could think
of there was China a few years back. Someone once said that the media is very
controled there and all that occured in Bejing at that time was getting
reported differently to the areas outside of Bejing. I don't know if that's
true or not, but it made me think about that. I guess one never really thinks
what a weapon the media could be. And Harlan as a Psi-Cop! How did that
happen????? How nice of Bester to leave Garabaldi alive to live with
everything he was forced to do. What a *&*^%^*( !!!! Nice scene with Walter
and Jerry.

Well, Joe, you've done it again! I've got to remember that line correctly,
"Trust Ivonova, trust yourselves and shoot everyone else." That will make a
great button.

Have a good one!

Roseann

Thanks...I do think this is one of our best to date.

                                                                    jms

[ Summary: Asks if there are images of Valen available on Minbar, and
if Delenn or others could have seen Sinclair's face in those images. ]

 #: 676654 S5/Babylon 5: General
    11-Jun-97 23:03:25
Sb: #676601-#The age of a Minbari
Fm: J. MICHAEL STRACZYNSKI

What Delenn says, if we all go back to the episode in question, that a
Minbari appeared to her, when she was a child lost in the city and wandered
into the temple; a vision, telling her that "I will not allow harm to come to
my little ones here in my great house." (Note: "my little ones" being a coy
bit of foreshadowing to her being a child of Valen, but never mind that for
now.)

Obviously there were many drawings and pictures and records of Valen, but
most were destroyed in the Great War. And those that survived have been, over
a thousand years, idealized and distorted by whichever caste is currently
claiming him as theirs. (Valen refused to belong to any one caste.)

Which, btw, is also what Delenn referred to in season one, when she was
lost and in fear of death, and she looked to Sinclair with reverence and said,
"I knew you would come for me."

                                                                    jms
