Not too sure of the posting technique here - if this is a dupe
post - my apologies.
Does anyone know, really *know* if complete film prints are ever
made? I don't see that it is essential - the entire release
could be on tape/digital something. But film prints could be
made, and would be neat for cons!
no guesses thanks David

Well, George, ... That SUCKS! *sheesh* you *need* a film copy. How
would you like B5 to be lost in a nuclear holocaust? Complete copies
need to be buried in the vaults post haste. After the cockroaches
evolve into sentience, they'll need something like B5 to show them
what mistakes not to make.
(Seriously though, this show is a classic, I fully believe it will be
watched and enjoyed 100 years from now. It's important to make sure
it will be available then.)

Jay-
No, I wouldn't like to have B5 lost in a nuclear holocaust, but film
won't do us any good in that instance, as the theatres will also be
blasted, methinks.
As to the issue of archival, there is no complete film print, but all of
the live action sequences are conformed on negative, plus the animation
files are stored so that they can be recreated and rerendered at
whatever resolution is needed (post explosion, of course).
This protects us from allowing our follow on civilizations from being
fooled by the shadows.
