Having had a chance to look at the issue in question, I might have to
revise my opinion of the sense of humour of the editorial staff...

On page 43 where they quote (without saying "why" JMS said it) the
"Wankers" message alongside some sycophantic waffle from some web site,
they go on to say "SFX is the only SF magazine not afraid to say what it
thinks" and "We refuse to play by anybody else's rules".

... then on the very next page, when referring to editorial staff looking
at past issues, the editor says "They made us sick every month". This
refreshing burst of honesty is, I believe, a genuine attempt by SFX to
empathise with its readership, since the magazine seems to have this affect
on a lot of people on a regular basis.

Larf? I nearly woke up.

Paul.

A .sig is all well and good, but it's no substitute for a personality

" . . . SFX is a fairly useless publication on just
about every imaginable front. Never have so many jumped-up fanboys done so
little, with so much, for so long." JMS.

If that were actually true, then the magazine would consist mainly of blank
pages.
