It's definitely work, though.  When I go to a con as a guest, I tell them up
front that I'm there to work my butt off for the convention.  Between the often
multiple single presentations that can go for two hours at a shot, never
sitting, plus other panels, plus signings, I can usually count on losing about
five pounds in a weekend convention, sometimes more.  If people are going to
come from sometimes hundreds of miles away to be there, I owe them nothing less
than a total effort.
