On Friday, the legendary Douglas Adams passed away from a heart attack. 
The world will be a bit less weird, and a bit sadder.

For those of you who are not aware, he was the genius behind The 
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, along with the Dirk Gently books and Last 
Chance to See.

His irreverent brand of humor will be sorely missed.

It's a terrible loss to all of science fiction fandom and, frankly, to the
world at large.  There is far too little joy in the world, and some of the best
of it came from Douglas Adams.
