Can a series change producers? Could Jeremiah be picked up from MGM by
someone else, and continued? Has this level of shuttling occurred before?

I had hoped last year that Jeremiah & Farscape might get swapped by
their respective stations. SciFi wanted a lower-budgeted, less space-y
series (are they still looking to change into an 'action' channel?), and
Showtime was looking for a showpiece. You tended to write Jeremiah to
be able to work within standard cable TV restraints if needed, and
Farscape was pushing those limits hard. It'd be more at home in an with
the freedoms of premium cable. (Though the psychological effects of the
topless shot in Man of Iron would be sorely missed.)

Between the unaired extra footage that's being released on the DVD sets
(including a lot of extra Season 4 material), and the creator's
statements at conventions that they did have plans for Farscape if it
should go beyond a five year run, there is plenty of value for Showtime.
Now if Sci-Fi can keep TNT at bay (or whoever else may end up owning
them), this could work out quite well for your team as well.

Just some thoughts...

In sequence...yes, yes, and it happens all the time.
