Just thought I'd set this up for folks to talk about plot details.

To get started...I was surprised to hear Apu playing the cab driver in New
York. :-D

I've been thinking about this a lot, and before I watch it again, I wanted to
throw this out and see what kind of response there is.

What kind of technology are the techno-mages using to predict the future?
Or, are we to assume that they are merely extrapolating from known data
(Vintari is the son of crazy Cartagia; Vintari seems to have the same sort of
longing for a return to the grand old days of the Republic that Londo has)?
Galen seems _awfully_ assured of this destruction-of-many-worlds scenario, to
be advising that Sheridan outright assassinate the kid.

I'm not saying that assassination is something unheard of for the
techno-mages, but it was just disturbing that Galen was just _so_ ready for
Sheridan to do it. So that got me to wondering just how precise and correct
is his information about the future.

Who says he really showed Sheridan the future? We know that Galen has
taken some interest in what's happening on Centauri Prime. Also, we
certainly know that technomages can be rather manipulative as well.

Well, that was kinda my point. :-) I'm sitting here stewing over the fact
that techno-mages, as far as we know, _can't_ predict the future. And I'm
trying to figure out what was going on there -- sure, manipulation of
Sheridan, but _he_ should _also_ know that techno-mages can't predict the
future.

Maybe I missed something, but how do we know they can't see future
events? Didn't we first meet them when they were leaving the galaxy
like rats a sinking ship? Somehow they know what was about to happen
-- of course, that "future" was changed as well...

We've never been told that they _can_ see the future, and in fact, all of
their "magic" is quite specifically revealed to be technologically driven.
And I'm sure that we've never been shown a future-predicting technology as
part of the B5 universe.

Just future-predicting dreamstates?

Who knows. Unless JMS chimes in to explain it for us, it's just
another mystery. According to the dialog, though, Sheridan seemed
pretty convinced that Galen had the ability to show him a future
event.

Two quick things, since I'm still on deadline lockdown....

1) Let us remember that time travel is also a form of technology
(which is all I'll say about this for now).

2) Galen would likely have been content with either solution, as
noted, as long as one or the other was implemented. But this one is
better.
