WGA has called a meeting for tomorrow night. You can read each
organization's version of what's happening at www.wga.org and
www.amptp.org. They both agree that they're sticking on the
subject of DVD payments, but they disagree (not unexpectedly)
on whose fault it is that negotiations have broken down.

Its interesting. The amptp areclaiming that they were promised that
internet stuff, even DVD payments were offlimits yet these are the the heart
of the writer's grievances according to my writer friends.

Strike's on.

Hopefully it's short. There should be cash to go around to give the
writers a boost.

In order to have any real impact, the strike will have to be at least
as long as the '88 strike, which lasted six months.
