Whew - I see why you were excited.  Y'know, every time someone remakes a 
classic, I find myself asking why - so often what happens is a pale 
shadow of the original, mostly because the film maker has not taken the 
time to consider WHY the original is a classic.  And, since for a change 
I have the opportunity to ask the scriptwriter himself - what 
possibilities do you see in Forbidden Planet that can be brought out in 
the remake that were not there in the original?  I mean, you do realize 
with one of YOUR scripts we're expecting another classic. :)

Another announcement to make, as per Daily Variety, which just went
online with this about an hour ago...there's a director now attached
to World War Z: Marc Forster, whose most current project is the new
James Bond movie.

I'm now finishing up the revisions per Marc's director's notes, and
with any luck, we can get this thing moving forward after the first of
the year.  Given the scale of the story, Marc's a perfect choice.
