Hello Bryan,
Thank you so much for your email and interest in our work.
We've checked both authors against the CFP's COI definitions and the current PC/reviewer list, and found no conflicts (no co-authorship, shared institution, or advisor/advisee relationship). Happy to provide any information to verify independently.
Below are the planned updates to the revised paper, incorporating feedback from multiple reviewers to make it more complete.
1. Add comparisons within the CXL baseline using the same expander, study driver-assisted CXL-GPU memory tiering alternatives (including LMB-style and DAX-based approaches), and measure host DRAM bandwidth contention as a trade-off metric.
2. add kvcache end-to-end LLM inference measurement using our target framework.
3. Add software implementation details, including how the kernel driver communicates with the hardware and the CPU overhead of descriptor processing, and clarify that the DMA controller is a real ASIC in our CXL expander.
4.
Add more references, and expand on claims, introduction background and other sections.
5.
Revise the Discussion and Related Work sections (title and/or content) and include varying queue-depth results and additional trade-off metrics if space permits.
6.
comparison against a flash-backed or host DRAM staging tier if feasible, or otherwise discuss it explicitly — including how a CXL-Flash variant would behave given that the DMA-P2P mechanism is media-agnostic, and what the picture looks like on a cost-normalized basis.
Thanks & Regards,
VSR

Dear authors of paper #241,
Thank you for providing me with more details. I am also looping in Eunji Lee, the shepherd for your paper.
I would again like to emphasize that we generally do not allow post-acceptance authorship changes. There are two points I would like to discuss.
First, although you have provided the ORCIDs of those you would like to add and what they will do, your description does not provide the evidence that the additions do not affect the conflict-of-interest declaration. Without thoroughly checking this, adding authors after the reviews are done undermines the peer review process. Please review the definitions for conflicts in our Call For Papers<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.hotstorage.org_2026_cfp.html&d=DwMGaQ&c=nKjWec2b6R0mOyPaz7xtfQ&r=XkP_75lnbPIeeucsPX36ZgjiMqEKttwZfwNyWMCLjT0&m=J4t6z4uaYCaQjQxx3bWC6wp29w2in3p3F8eQWgqfOOewTQouccttjUIibARn7Lwq&s=78JrLk5ccAl96WWKhvqYWPYpbO00c906kqWAaC9d-bI&e=>.
Second, the amount of change between the submission and the camera-ready version is not expected to be substantial enough that it requires additional authors. New experiments may be included, but if the original set of authors cannot perform this, the planned work may be too much. Please share with me the planned revision that you have sent to your shepherd for me to review.
I appreciate your submission, and I think that the attendees of HotStorage would find your work quite interesting. However, as the co-chair of the program committee, I need to ensure the integrity of the peer review process and adherence to the ACM authorship policies.
Thank you.

Subject: Re: [EXTERNAL] [HotStorage 2026] HotStorage’26 Camera-Ready Instructions
Hello Bryan,
Thank you for the guidance.
Regarding adding new authors: we need to do substantial new experimental work for camera-ready, specifically new CXL-baseline tiering comparisons (LMB-style/DAX-based, with host-DRAM contention measurements) and KV-cache LLM inference measurements on real workloads, both requiring hands-on expertise. Given the short time we have, we need to consult other team members who are experts in these areas to integrate and test our work. Gaurav Agarwal (ORCID: 0009-0008-4534-3898) is designing and running the CXL-baseline/tiering comparisons and co-authoring that analysis, and Michal Kalderon (0009-0007-2867-302X) is designing and running the KV-cache inference measurements and co-authoring those results — both are generating and interpreting new data driving the revision, not just providing infrastructure support.
Happy to share further contribution details if helpful.
Thanks & Regards,
VSR

Dear Veerasenareddy,
This is something that I should chime in as one of the program co-chairs.
We generally do not allow post-acceptance authorship changes, as doing so undermines the review process and conflict-of-interest (COI) declarations. Even if there are no COI concerns, I recommend that you review the ACM authorship policy<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.acm.org_publications_policies_new-2Dacm-2Dpolicy-2Don-2Dauthorship&d=DwMGaQ&c=nKjWec2b6R0mOyPaz7xtfQ&r=XkP_75lnbPIeeucsPX36ZgjiMqEKttwZfwNyWMCLjT0&m=Zr0F3ekmmyvVjvznzo76UNtmpX2IFxPBxfVp_dJn4xlowNksYbRSdfUlEeNQTRtt&s=4ezaHOQ2rhDRyKDzfUozY6Wb_BrDDJg-9IM4bkvvoH0&e=> and consider whether the added work for the camera-ready version warrants authorship.
More specifically, as stated in the ACM authorship policy, authors must "have made substantial and demonstrable intellectual contributions." If you think the authorship change is necessary, please reply with a detailed explanation as stated in our CFP.
Post-acceptance authorship change undermines the review process and the conflict-of-interest declarations. For authorship changes after acceptance, the authors must provide evidence that the change complies with the ACM authorship policy and does not affect conflict-of-interest declarations, along with a detailed explanation to the PC chairs about why the authorship change is necessary.

Hi Chenhao,
I have received the email with link to publishing process that includes eRights form.
To address the feedback from reviewers and update the paper, we have couple of additional authors who are contributing to the camera ready version.
Can you please let us know if we can add two additional authors to the final version of the paper ?
Thanks & Regards,
VSR

Hi Alok,
I just resent the email. As a note, ACM by default only sent the eRights form to the corresponding author. In your case, it should be sent to Veerasenareddy Burru. Please let us know if you still cannot find the email.
Thanks,
Chenhao

Dear authors,
Congratulations again on the acceptance of your paper to HotStorage’26!
Please follow the instructions below when preparing your camera-ready
submission. *We highly recommend completing the eRights Form (action #2)
as soon as possible, as it takes time for ACM Digital Library to process
it before you can submit the final paper.*
The camera-ready deadline is **Wednesday, August 12, 2026, Anywhere on
Earth (AoE)**.
1. Format the paper properly
- Template: Please prepare your final paper using the latest ACM
template version 2.19 with 10pt font (i.e., your LaTeX file should use
`\documentclass[sigconf,10pt]{acmart}`). You can download the template
from
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.hotstorage.org_2026_files_hotstorage2026-5Fpaper-5Ftemplate.zip&d=DwIFaQ&c=nKjWec2b6R0mOyPaz7xtfQ&r=Qj20_cZkWXAFqNr-izZFek2OlLDmWE9MPvNfQbrTWW4&m=MAZZvuPNL34b17Ef9SX1hEJnu9TyI8eLDdARvkpHlj7NM9MhFal2WUoMGQc92FlC&s=T96y9kZbpD8FU7V42QNysAcbdO4mF_FczVcHunIvOpc&e=
. We apologize that previously the HotStorage’26 Call for Papers pointed
to an older version of the ACM template. If you used that version for
your original submission, please update your camera-ready paper to
version 2.19.
- Title: The camera-ready paper title should contain only the paper’s
actual title. Please do not include the submission type, such as
"Regular" or "Position," in the camera-ready version.
- Page limit: You can add one additional page to the camera-ready paper.
- Metadata: Make sure to include the proper CCS Concepts, Keywords, and
copyright information (see #2 below).
2. Complete ACM eRights Form
The authors should have received ACM eRights forms from a separate
email. Please complete this form promptly and carefully; the title,
author names, affiliations, and other metadata entered in eRights should
be accurate and consistent with the camera-ready version. If you have
not received this email, please let us know. *Authors whose forms are
pending will be unable to upload their final papers.*
The eRights form will require the ORCID of all authors. Authors who do
not already have one should register at https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2fORCID.org&c=E,1,NP07jWlv-RKk7lMYCRSEovbiRnxczwkved9rcSCkEAcbrcNalGQ5PUl7sSoG6XonqjAx8yAP-XuvfuwSFCQG3pfaT1sgodCeMER_mXeUnmA9okm5gUxd&typo=1<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__linkprotect.cudasvc.com_url-3Fa-3Dhttps-253a-252f-252fORCID.org-26c-3DE-2C1-2CGjUYdTe4bxJZDJ7kndYSxz7vCeeKfSsARdnzdvFf3g-2DkQYHPN1aPNsSnskgUP7kiB-2D7X6xvSKixTAVaHMwlVaKf3Htf3B7KCjEuSqnbXy7tdPgOvifYa58Dm-26typo-3D1-26ancr-5Fadd-3D1&d=DwMGaQ&c=nKjWec2b6R0mOyPaz7xtfQ&r=XkP_75lnbPIeeucsPX36ZgjiMqEKttwZfwNyWMCLjT0&m=Zr0F3ekmmyvVjvznzo76UNtmpX2IFxPBxfVp_dJn4xlowNksYbRSdfUlEeNQTRtt&s=2DgB4llTb5EcjtRkmqrT-8bCHQv11z8kotZZVc2e2T4&e=> first.
After completing the eRights forms, the authors will be emailed the
rights text (bibliographic strip, ISBN, DOI, etc.). Authors must include
this text in their paper.
As rights management emails are sent from an automated system, these may
wind up in SPAM folders. Please make sure the SPAM filter allows emails
from rightsreview at acm.org<mailto:rightsreview at acm.org>.
3. Submit the final version through TAPS
Final papers will be processed through The ACM Production System (TAPS).
After authors complete their eRights forms, they will receive a separate
email from TAPS within 12 hours. The TAPS email will contain
instructions for uploading source, supplementary, and auxiliary files
for processing. Please keep an eye on the emails from
tapsadmin at aptaracorp.awsapps.com<mailto:tapsadmin at aptaracorp.awsapps.com>
You may find the detailed workflow with TAPS at
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__authors.acm.org_proceedings_production-2Dinformation_taps-2Dproduction-2Dworkflow&d=DwIFaQ&c=nKjWec2b6R0mOyPaz7xtfQ&r=Qj20_cZkWXAFqNr-izZFek2OlLDmWE9MPvNfQbrTWW4&m=MAZZvuPNL34b17Ef9SX1hEJnu9TyI8eLDdARvkpHlj7NM9MhFal2WUoMGQc92FlC&s=WlQnpAkcyX11QQ9keeT-06OfO1H-W29ShTQIA76sv7I&e=
