Dear Dalit,

Thank you for bringing this up, and we appreciate you going the extra mile to look through even the papers not assigned to you. Another reviewer has brought up this concern for all the papers you mentioned, and we do suspect that the authors have used AI tools for the paper.

Unfortunately, ACM allows the use of AI in writing papers, which makes it a bit challenging to navigate this issue. We should nevertheless uphold the high standards of research, and still measure papers against the qualities we value in research (novelty, comprehensiveness, clarity, etc.). From my understanding, paper #40 falls short in this regard.

We will seek advice from the steering committee for this specific instance and future policies. The current ACM policy places the burden on the reviewers, and we, as members of the research community, need to be concerned about AI abuse cases that would otherwise degrade the quality of published research and waste reviewers' effort.

Thank you again. Reviewers like you are what make our research community shine.
-Bryan

Hi Young-ri and Bryan,

I am reading paper #40 titled
Position: Storage Kernels Should Carry Lowering Contracts
it looks very strange. I couldn't parse it, or understand a word in it. Maybe an AI-generated paper.
Since it looked suspicious, I looked at all submissions with the words "storage kernels" in their title.
- # 22, 40 and 49 look basically the same (similar graphics, 80+ references, very long lists of citations, many appendices)
- # 197 looks different

Please take a look. If I am correct, then this is an abuse of the review system and I suggest you take strong actions. I hope I am wrong but I doubt it.
Of course, I will write this in my review for paper #40.

Thanks. Dalit.
