Hello, I am Bryan S. Kim, one of the program committee co-chairs for HotStorage. I first want to congratulation on the (conditional) acceptance of your work. Please work with your shepherd to complete the final version of the paper.


  1.
APC waiver is between ACM (the publisher) and Samsung (your institution) - it is not something that I, as a co-chair for the workshop, can intervene in. For example, my home institution (Syracuse University) has an APC agreement with ACM. If Samsung has an APC agreement with ACM, there should be someone within Samsung who knows about this. Alternatively, I encourage you to reach out to ACM to check if there is an APC waiver for Samsung.

Yes, at least one author needs to register for the conference and travel to the workshop to present. This year's HotStorage is part of SOSP (Symposium of Operating Systems Principles) workshop. Usually, the big four costs are (1) publication fee (or APC, if applicable), (2) conference or workshop registration fee, (3) travel (airfare), and (4) lodging (hotel) and food. Items #1 and #2 are fixed, but #3 and #4 depend on the traveler.

2. Whether presenting authors are required to pay a conference registration fee, if so, the amount of the payment; and

3. Whether there are any other costs that authors should anticipate.
