Dear Roshan,
Thank you for reaching out and asking for clarification. We think that you would not have a conflict with that PC member for the industrial PhD grant. Aside from that, however, you would be in conflict with anyone from Samsung and EPFL due to your past and current affiliations. Thank you, and we look forward to your work!

Subject: [Hotstorage-chairs] Query Regarding Conflict Declaration
Dear HotStorage Chairs,
I'm a PhD student at EPFL. Prior to starting out at EPFL, I had applied for an "Industrial PhD Grant" with a PC member in December 2024.
The grant did not go through, and I did not join the PC member's lab and university for my PhD.
I wanted to clarify if this still counts as a conflict. Looking forward to your recommendation.
Best,
Roshan
