I'm still waiting to get the piece of mail from the Student Activities
Office so that we can request the use of a room in order to hold a
meeting. Once we get that we should be good to go.
I am having a problem that I hope someone on this list can help me
with. I bought a laptop today. It's an old toshiba satellite 410CS
(Pentium 90, 40MB ram, 1.3GB disk). I got it for $60. The problem I'm
having is mostly due to the registration that I must do in order to get
net access from within the resnet network on campus. I want to install
debian. So, I'm going to use the network install. However, before I
can get the laptop to access the internet I need to register it. This
registration requires a web browser. So, I need a bootable floppy (or
series of floppies) that will boot, configure my PCMCIA network card,
connect to a network via DHCP, and let me use a web browser. I can't
boot off of a CD so that option is out. So far I have tried the debian
install floppies, the mandrake boot floppy, the QNX4 Demo Disk :o), and
floppix. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
Mark.
