I've been using debian for almost a year on my server at home, and close
to 6 months on my desktop. I have been following the debian-devel and
debian-user mailing lists for a while though and I try and keep a tab on
general debian development as well. While I try to not use the terms
'best' or even 'better' in terms of linux distributions, debian is
definitely heaven for those who like their computers for the sake of
computing. (Sorry for all the emotion) But, if you really like
understanding how pieces fit together and you enjoy seeing the
collaboration happen across continents and across platforms, debian is
where it is at. If you are looking for a linux where everything is
transparent to the user and, well, 'rounded off' for lack of a better
term, then some of the newer desktop distributions are your thing. I
think I lost track of what I was trying to say and switched into
evangelist mode. Well, just to reiterate, Wednesday's debian talk will
be an introduction and a myth-breaking session. Fun will be had by all.
 <hypnotic stare>...come to the meeting...</hypnotic stare>
