[LUGSB] AIM features behind IPTables masq?

Hey all,

Has anyone had any luck with getting AIM's special features, such as
direct connection and file transfer, working with an IPTables based NAT?
I've read a lot of conflicting advice on the web.  I've managed to get
incoming connections working but not outgoing, and I'm not sure which
method I've been using has got me thus far (or if it's the slightly
shady implementation of direct connect and file transfers in GAIM)
