I know that a bunch of people at the last meeting were interested in the
new Fedora Core Distribution (an offspring of Red Hat). And, the first
official release of Fedora was made available today. For more
information you can head over to http://fedora.redhat.com, or if you
just want to get to the downloads, http://fedora.redhat.com/download/.
Copies of Fedora will be made available at our next Install-a-thon for
anyone who would like to install it with the club's help. You can
basically think of this release as Red Hat Linux 10, although Fedora
lacks official support from Red Hat. I would recommend this
distribution to newbies and veterans alike. It seems like a high
quality distribution. I'd be interested to hear anyone else's ideas or
experiences.
