Here's the body of the email, sent by the resnet staff.
............................
Fri Oct 24 11:53:01 EDT 2003
At approximately 10:43 pm on Th. Oct 23, 2003 about 300 computers in
ResNet started a DDOS(Distributed Denial Of Service) attack targeting
computers off Campus.
As a Result, the ResNet was cut-off from the Internet.
Around 3:00am on Fri. Oct 24, the NOC staff identified the offending
computers and proceeded to disconnect them in order to restore service
to ResNet.
Please make sure you have the lates AntiVirus.
