Hello,
Wow..quite a response...anyway sorry for the brief detailess e-mail
before...to respond to some questions
You need to have an account with the university specifically for the
wireless ethernet which can be obtained by calling 631-632-8568. you may
have to make an appointment or they may just get you setup with an account,
but you have to get it from them in person, and since they dont support
Linux I would avoid mentioning it.
The ethernet uses PPTP VPN to authenticate users. The software i found was
PPTP Client which can be found at http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/
The VPN server is vpn.sunysb.edu
I have it set to require encryption
DNS set to automatic
routing set to All to Tunnel and the "Public Network Interface" set to wlan0
but I'm certain that wont be the same for everyone...obviously you should
replace wlan0 with whatever your Wireless card is refered to as.
anyway...I'm gonna try and put together something a little bit more thorough
than this if I have some time, hopefully before then next LUGSB meeting.

"No, I'm disagreeing with you. That doesn't mean I'm not listening to you or
understanding what you're saying -- I'm doing all three at the same time. "
