Peter,
It depends on what kind of application and its format at download! Also
each application requires different installation commands. Actually there
should be available README file or Installation instructions for the
application that you downloaded. It would be much easier if you can come
to one of our meetings and could help you out. Mark should be posting new
meeting hours soon!

Hey,

Alright. Welcome back to Stony Brook. I hope everyone had a good break
and everything like that. This semester seems to be shaping up to be a
pretty busy one. We'll be doing a few things at ICON, I've got a few
lectures in mind, I'm sure we'll find ourselves with a bunch more
members. It's gonna be sweet.

Anyway, regarding when to hold meetings. I am available for meetings
any day of the work as long as they are after 6pm. I have work M,W,F
and a bunch of classes Tuesdays and Thursdays. But, everything gets
finished by 5:30 or so. Speaking with a few members of the club has me
leaning towards M,W,F rather than Tu,Th. I don't like having meetings
on Fridays, because everyone is itching to get home. So, I would like
to tentatively schedule meetings for Wednesdays at around 6:15pm. If
this is a problem for anyone, speak up now. I haven't looked into what
courses are given at what times or anything like that, so please let me
know if you have a conflict. Depending on how many people have
conflicts, this time could change. Also, given that we aren't scheduled
for the use of a room or anything at the moment, I like to put off the
first meeting until next week. This gives me a little bit of time to
find a good room, and also sets us up to have meetings on the first and
third Wednesday of every month. This is good because LILUG is the
second Tuesday and LIPHP is the last Monday. Phew. So, as for right
now, the first meeting of the semester is tentatively scheduled for:

Wednesday, February 4th @ 6:15PM.
Location: TBA
