I'm not really sure of any good books to use for C/C++ programming in a
Microsoft environment.  You might have better luck asking the people in
the Stony Brook Computing Society (www.sbcs-acm.com) as they are more
familiar with the Microsoft platform than many of the people on this
list.  They also have a bookshelf of books that mostly apply to working
in Microsoft environments.
