Hey Everyone,

I want to thank everyone who came down to the ICON event. I had a great
time, and I think everyone who attended was very happy with the panel.

Our next meeting is this Thursday, April 1st @ 6:45 in the Computer
Science building room 2129. I'm going to give an introduction to
scripting in Python. It's going to be a very simple introduction to
Python. So, if you have any experience what-so-ever with programming,
you'll be able to follow along. I'll cover the interesting syntax of
Python, what sets it apart from other languages, pros & cons, and that
sort of thing. Then show an example of using Python to automate some
task, and probably an example using PyGTK to create a GTK-based
application in Python. Depending on how much time that takes, we can go
over some BASH stuff as well, because I know there are a few people in
the club who are interested in learning more about BASH. So, be sure
and come down to the meeting, because Python kicks ass, and knowing
Python will make you kick more ass too.

Oh, we'll also have nominations at this meeting for the 4 available
positions at LUGSB. The 4 positions are: President, Vice President,
Treasurer and Secretary. We'll be holding nominations at this meeting
(4/1) and next meeting (4/15) and elections will be held the meeting
after that (4/29). I'll talk more about this at the meeting on
Thursday.

--Mark.
