Alright, to be honest, I'm not sure if this is going to work because
I've never really done it myself. But, give this a shot. In Gnome,
open up a nautilus window (double click on the 'home folder' icon on the
desktop). Go to the 'File...' menu and then click on 'connect to
server...'. There should be an option for connecting to a windows share
or something similar. Unfortunately I'm at work and the version of
gnome I have here doesn't have this feature, so I'm not exactly sure of
the wording. However, I've used this feature to connect to FTP servers
and SSH servers and it worked fairly well. I'm pretty sure there is a
way to connect to windows shares in there. It should make an icon on
your desktop that links to the windows share that you can double-click
to browse the share. Really, I recommend people play around with this
feature because I don't think a lot of people know that it's there and I
think a lot of people would find it very useful. Good Luck.
