[LUGSB] Pen drive - Getting Mandriva

Hey all,

Thanks for all the suggestions to resolve my pen drive issue,
I am still going through them, but also have decided it is time
to upgrade, and rather than stay with Xandros, which I have not
been completely happy with, I'll give Madrake(iva) a shot.

One quick question: What package manager does Mandriva
use? Xandros is based on Debian, so uses apt-get, however,
since Xandors rather locks you in to their own sources-list
file, the packages you can get are rather limited. I know there
are ways around this, but attempts to do so seem to often
result in scrambled OS elements.

Another rather trivial question: Does anyone know the origin
of the name Mandrake? The only place I know it from is
Peter Sellers's character in Dr. Strangelove, which would
be a pretty place to get a name for a distro! I hope if not,
it's at least that cool.

Again, thanks for all your help! And a big kudos to the
person or basically said, 'upgrade, dummy!'
