[LUGSB] Ghost files: incomplete deletion (or some such)

And if that file is still open, I won't be able to unmount the partition
that it's on while the file is in use. So remounting the drive should
ensure that all deleted files are actually removed. But that didn't
work. (At least, I think it didn't. "umount -l" causes ambiguities; you
know you can't access the partition further, but you can't tell when the
partition is fully unmounted.)

Now, since I tried fsck --rebuild-trees with insufficient space on the
partition, I broke the partition. And fsck --fix-fixable doesn't work.
Am I down to reformatting the partition?
