[LUGSB] Problem with /dev/ttyUSB*

After much work, it turns out that my CA-42 cable is a knockoff and so
it needs a special driver. This exists and I have compiled it into my
kernel, and now I get /dev/usb/ttyUSB0, and have symlinks to it. But it
still won't work with the program to grab information off of my phone,
the driver is new and experimental, and software doesn't quite use it yet.

So, the $8 I spent on it is bunk, and I may have to get the official $50
cable just to get 30 or so junky images off of the thing. Cell phone
companies are wonderful.

The unrelated good news is that I have full airnet access thanks to the
directions online. I have to "pon sunysb" each time, right?
