[LUGSB] Make Error Fixed

After trying another approach I tried building on a Windows O/S with 
cygwin (and some additional packages for it), and the build went fine.  
Leads me to believe that something isn't configured/setup right on my 
linux machine.

Aside from downloading and installing packages like gcc, binutils, 
etc...is there something else that I should be doing to make them work 
right?  I can compile individual files so I would assume they are 
functioning properly (not to mention that many come preinstalled in ubuntu).
