1)Is there a way to tell samba to remove all of its log files, so I can restart logging.

2) I have 3 systems, 1 pc running Vista, another pc running mandriva(as a server), and a laptop running mandriva. I would like to sync my Vista's Documents folder with a folder on my laptop.  One way to do it in such a way that my Vista machine is always syncing with my linux desktop, and whenever I connect  the  laptop back to my network It  syncs with the linux server. That  way I always have my  Documents backed up on the server.  Then  if I made a change to that folder on my linux laptop,it would be forwarded to the linux server then the Vista Machine.

Another way to do it would be to map the windows home directory to a samba share and then  I would only have to worry about synching with the
laptop directly. And I guess just set the share as available offline in Vista, because I would need to be able to access the documents whether or not the server is on.

What are the pros and cons of using either approach, and what software could be used to do this.
I am also guessing that since syncing is also done sometimes using  timestamps, I would probably have to synchronize the time between the machines.

3)I have noticed that I have to restart my Samba server whenever I resart my vista machine or Vista cannot connect to it.what would cause this?
