Hi, all,
Tomorrow, Monday the 29th, LUGSb will hold it's annual
start-of-semester Installfest and "Ask-the-Experts" session. If you'd
dying to try Linux, bring your computer and we'll help you get set up.
You can provide your own install media, and we will have some Ubuntu
Linux CDs on hand. This is an easy and painless way to begin playing
around with Linux - it's even possible to install Linux alongside your
Windows installation in a "dual-boot" configuration, so you can always
switch back. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask
the list!
Knowledgeable Linux Experts will also be on-hand to help you answer
questions you may have about Linux, getting some exotic piece of
hardware to work, how to compile something from source, or some other
thorny Linux-related problem. Bring your tough questions, your
intractable dilemmas, your stubborn hardware, and we will help you!
(Or, at least, we will try. Terms and Conditions apply.)
The event will be at 5:30 PM on the 29th. Due to the holiday, and
some ineptitude on the part of the Administration, we don't have a
room reserved yet. However, LUGSB will be able to get a room, and
I'll send an update to the list as soon as I know.
We hope to see you there!
-Ben Kudria
LUGSB President
