I am having trouble copying folders from my vista machine over to a samba share. if i copy the files using the windows user interface the files copy(although slowly), but the permissions for some of the files become read only for user|group|everybody. Subdirectories also have the execute permission removed. Any attempt to paste over files fail because of missing permissions.
The windows command(xcopy or robocopy) both fail after copying anywhere between 1-5 files. The permissions of the directory the files are being copied to is also modified.
The account the share is mapped under is the same as the linux user who owns the files of the share. It seems this occurs whenever the directory has a script or executable
Any ideas of how to setup samba/vista so files could be copied
