Hi everyone,

Next Monday LUGSB will be discussing MediaWiki, the open source wiki
software used by Wikipedia. Learn how to set it up, configure it, and
extend it with plugins.

I'll be talking about:
* Some common uses for personal wikis. Why would you want one in the
first place?
* How Wikipedia scales to 80,000 requests per second. If you have any
questions about how Wikipedia works, from article-editing to
image-serving to the public API, come and ask them.
* Installing MediaWiki on your personal computer, flash drive, or
public server using Linux tools. I'll be setting up an instance on a
public server using Apache and MySQL (PostgreSQL also works). Bring
your laptops!

The meeting is from 7pm-9pm in CS 2120, Monday October 25th. Pizza
will be served.
