[LUGSB] IRC inside the campus

Hi All,

I am a new PhD student at the computer science department.

I am using ubuntu 10.10. and I have a problem regarding IRC. I am trying to
connect to freenode server from inside the campus, but it fails whatever the
client I am using,  (xchat, pidgin, empathy ...). I am wondering if there is
any network restriction on the ports used usually by IRC servers. Please,
let me know if you have idea about my problem.
