[Unionfs] Kernelpanic after trying to mount a union (2.6.16-ck1, unionfs-20060321-0427)

Hello,

after upgrading my kernel to 2.6.16-ck1, I had to upgrade from an old
unionfs-snapshot (unionfs-20060212-1923) to a newer one, as the old one
did not compile against the new kernel.
With the new kernel and the new unionfs-module, I cannot mount anything
with unionfs anymore.

If I try to

mount -t unionfs -o dirs=/mnt/hdb1=ro:/mnt/hda7=ro unionfs /data/

I get an error that the superblock on "unionfs" cannot be read or is
invalid. The only thing I receive in the dmesg-output is

unionfs_read_super: error while parsing options (err = -22)

After about 30 seconds, I get a kernelpanic and my whole system locks
up. The lockup only happens when I try to get the union to work, so it's
not related to something different.

Am I doing anything wrong while mounting?

If you need the whole output from the kernelpanic, I'll try to "copy" it
manually (seems like the whole fs is locked, so I can't save the output
anymore).

Regards,

Ferdinand Hübner
