Ok.

There have been some people that tried to add unioning functionality for
VFS, actual fs drivers (ext2, etc.), even a combination of whiteout
support in VFS, but actual implementation in the fs driver.

As far as I know, none of the Linux implementations mentioned above
actually work as well as our stackable implementation.
