Ur-hur.

The Clone Saga was a mistake from the beginning because the very basis
of such is a cheat. So that's one whole mistake you named,
plot-wise...but *in* the story, the characters make plenty of mistakes.
In fact, Peter's mistake of not saving Ben is the Key to the entire
Spider-Man Mythos. If Ben doesn't die, Peter probably goes on to rule
the WWF.

So...Gwen made a mistake...yeah, it was a bad one, but not nearly as bad
as the one Peter made, eh?

I honestly think that the reason why so many COMIC BOOK readers here
don't buy into Gwen doing this is because, well, they see it as a high
improbability themselves. Heh.

BTW...there's a very, very balanced article about this over at

http://www.spideykicksbutt.com/GreenwithEvil/DeFloweringGwen.html

It looks at both the positive and the negative aspects of the story, looks at
the timeline issues, faults the story on some areas, redeems it on others...one
may or may not agree with its ultimate conclusions, but you can't fault its
logic.
