I was browsing the Lurker's guide today, and I noticed that for the
story "Infection," the Ikarans existed about a thousand years ago... about
the time of the last war with the shadows. They also had organic technology
like the Minbari and the Vorlons...
Is there any connection between their disppearance (and the creation
of the genocidal robot or whatever it was) with the Shadows, or the last war?
Could a similar fate be in store for the Minbari (who seem to have
a tendancy to follow leaders off the cliff, if they think it's for a good
cause...), or even the Vorlons?

There is a connection between the Ikarran situation and the shadows, but
only a tenuous one. They had heard of the great enemy rampaging all over
the place, and had cobbled together a very primitive source of organic
technology that would kill anything and anyone that was not pure Ikarran
(which, of course, led to their destruction). Sinclair, at the time, hit
it dead on..."When you become obsessed with the enemy, you *become* the
enemy."
