I haven't heard anything about how KVOS will be handling the show yet, so
we'll have to see.

      "Who are you for starters?"

I work craft services at the Babylon 5 stage. I make the hot dogs. It's
a small job, but I'm proud to be there.

to pick up more positive articles and reviews lately...basicallly, I think
journalists are starting to get past their preconceptions of what we should be,
and what SF is, to see the show for what it is. >> Oddly enough, I picked
up this magazine at the local grocery store. As I'd never seen the title
before, I looked for the publisher -- Warner Publishing (and I think this is
the "other" one, not the publishing arm of Warner Bros., no?)

It seems that the recent cluster of letters to TV Guide can't but help in
directing the focus of both SF and B5. And isn't it also possible that
journalists skipping their browsers across the WWW like stones across a pond
will inevitably run into "cool" B5 sites, which, again, might direct their
focus in a more desirable direction? (Perhaps an unintended consequence of your
"interactive document" concept?)

You've said often that doing B5 has been an uphill battle. With the season 4
renewal, the TNT syndication, the increasing coverage, and the more positive
reviews of late, do you feel like your finally approaching the crest? Here's
hoping season 5 is a downhill coast, obstacle-wise.

Joseph Michael... get your lying little self in here and go to your room. <G>

So, "Don't go, it's horrible" he says. "Everyone dies", he says. "Whole
communities have outlawed it", he says. "It'll give your kids nightmares", he
says.

 HE LIES!!!!!

The truth is, the play was horribly cute. If anyone died watching this,
it was because his initials are JMS and he insists that he doesn't do cute. The
Disney film would give children more nightmares. And another thing if whole
communities outlaw it, it is due to an intolerance to things cute.

Queen: "Mirror, mirror on the wall; who's the fairest of them all?"
Miror: "How about a weather report instead?"

How about Prince Charming (A.K.A. the second best huntsman in the land)
is a spy in her majesty's castle, not to mention a total clutz. Lead by the,
now free, spirit of the miror to a poisoned Snow White; he asks for a little
privacy, so everyone takes one step back. He kisses Snow on the hand...
nothing. Then, on the cheek... nothing. With a little encouragment from the
others, he then spritzes with binaca and kisses her on the lips... she awakens
and they lived happily ever after.
But wait... that's not all!!! Sleepy has a teddy bear! Yes, you read
that right; sleepy has a teddy bear. (no pole attached though)
I would take a guess that some writer, who's name I won't mention,
didn't much care for his teachers at the age of 18; as one of them was turned
into a hamster.

May the Light shine forever,
Rich

P.S. Someone's gonna pay, by signing a program in October. <G>

Well, I'm not surprised that Londo won't shut up when he's supposed to.
Sometimes I get this weird urge to hear him yadder on for five minutes and
marvel at what comes out of his mouth. The only other one I can say that
about is Zathras, who has made me laugh more than an other character on B5 so
far.

You've also confirmed my suspicions. I just wonder if it rattles you when a
character DEMANDS to appear, DEMANDS to be important and finally DEMANDS to
be indispensible ESPECIALLY when he/she wasn't even part of the recipe when
you decided to start cooking(pardon the analogy). In the few years I've been
writing, this has happened so often I spend most of my time wondering when,
not if. Usually my favorite characters are the ones who don't know how to
appear in an outline or on time. Do you know of any others that might take
the stage as late as Season 5, or haven't they let themselves be known to you
yet<G>?

Best, DAVE

Thanks...and yeah, it happened again. I'm writing 405, "The Long Night,"
and there's something that one character was supposed to do in the script, that
had been the plan all along, that was my intent even as near as 1 page from
where it was going to happen...then just as I got to that scene, another
character stepped up and said, "no, let me do it." I was kinda flummoxed.
"You?! You're the LAST person anyone would think to do this." The character
nodded. "Exactly." And the symmetry was perfect, the impact would be
greater...so that's who did it.

On one level, it's always wonderful when this happens; on another, it
scares the hell out of me....

It's at the bottom of act two, you'll figure it out when you get there.

So you were around back when the SF Forum first opened in '85 with a grand
total of twelve sections. It was quite a while before The Powers That Be let
us split the forums into Lit and Media. Until that and the increase in the
number of sections in a forum, it was pretty difficult to accommodate the
number of topics we needed. Now look at us <g>.

And since I was on CompuServe since '79, I'll borrow a line of yours: "I have
always been here!"

  Joe,

I see from the tentative schedule (at http://lacon3.wsfs.org) that your B5
presentation will be at 3pm on Saturday. Do you know if the "A1" room will be
Big Enough?

I vote for the "Arena" since if it's big enough for the Masquerade and Hugo
Awards, it may be big enough to contain your People.
