So, I'm going nuts here after hearing nasty rumors from a friend: 

The basic rumor is that there will be no fifth season of Babylon 5. 

Knowing all we already know about the way WB decides renewals (i.e.,
year-by-year), that would seem an unlikely thing to be solid this far in
advance -- but the rumor I heard is more specific and goes on to say that
a critical character won't be around for a fifth year. 

Again, it seems unlikely -- why on earth would any of your required actors
be signed to a contract that didn't cover the full length of the arc? For
that matter, why wouldn't any missing actor just be recast? Sure, a recast
isn't a great thing, but it's better than ending the show.

Anyway, please say it isn't so, Joe.

This is another nonsense rumor.  Not a single cast member has stated this
to us.
