Dear JMS,
I know you have said that the Shadow/Vorlon battle is not a simple matter
of good versus evil. However the following quote has been floating around
and there has been some debate as to its authenticity. So, did you once
say:
The Shadows are doing evil things for good reasons and the Vorlons are
doing good things for evil reasons.
Or is this in fact backwards or merely an apocryphal saying which I heard
from a friend who heard it from his sister who said she saw you at a con
at which she overheard her friend saying she heard you say this once a few
years ago? :-)
Anyway, it might be an important point in figuring out the motivations of
the various races. Indeed it was reported that someone (Mojo?) thought
you were giving too much away with this line.
Any clarification would be appreciated.
Thanks, congratulations, and keep up the good work!

I don't believe I ever stated it quite that way, mainly I have emphasized
that there may be justifications for actions on both sides.
