There would've been a very few on deep space patrols, or on isolated
worlds that would've survived, yes, as was indicated in the narration at the
close of the episode, but you're talking about very, very small numbers. The
race is still effectively dead.

Congrats on getting started on Season 4! Have you a title for this season's
episodes yet? (And can you refresh us on what the previous 3 were named?)

Yes, I have titles for this season's shows, mostly, and the overall
title.

You'll get them in the fullness of time.

Will we see Zathras again in a future episode or was his trip 1000 years into
the past his exit from the series?

P.S. Your "scares the hell out of me" joystick plugs into the keyboard to
enable you to assign joystick buttons to emulate keystrokes. This could come
in very handy with certain games. Also, an optical joystick plugs into a
standard game port--it doesn't require a special connection.

Thanks. The Television Thing to do would've been to have that moment of
victory, Sheridan saying the crisis is over, then fade to black...but it was
absolutely *vital* to go to the lower sections and see the human cost of that
victory. War is never a bloodless game.

                                                                    jms

Hello, Joe.

I was re-watching PtG when something dawned on me. When Brother Edward gets
into the lift after speaking with Delenn & Lennier (I assume it was in Delenn's
quarters, which is in Green sector, right?), he tells the lift to take him to a
Brown sector level. Can the lift take someone horizontally from sector to
sector? I was under the impression that the lifts only worked vertically from
level to level within the same sector and that the core shuttle was used to go
from sector to sector.

Thanks for taking the time to answer such a trivial question.

 -- Brent

P.S. After re-watching it for about the third time, I have to admit that PtG is
quite touching in several places. Good work.

 Hello, Joe.

I was re-watching "Interludes & Examinations" and was struck with some
thoughts about the similarities between Sheridan in "In the Shadow of Z'Ha'Dum"
and Londo in I&E. And since it seemed to me (at least) to be so striking, I
thought I'd drop you a note and ask about it.

In "Z'Ha'Dum," we have John coming to the realization that the Shadows have
probably killed his wife. He's angry. When he's told who really (probably)
killed his wife, he tells Kosh that he now wants to be taught to fight them, to
defeat them. Because sooner or later, he's going to Z'Ha'Dum and he's going to
stop them.

Then we have Londo, who loses his one, true love. He thinks he knows who
killed her and asks Morden to help him get revenge on her killer(s).

Both of them are inspired to greater roles by the death of someone they love,
yet they still seem world's apart. Hmm . . .

Anyway, I just had to mention something and ask you if it was, indeed,
intentional on your part to have them almost mirror each other's path. Was it?

 Thanks,

 -- Brent

Certainly, one theme of the show is how we each deal with the traumas
that beset us, and the choices we make. The difference is in how we handle
them. In "Shadow" and "Interludes" both Londo and Sheridan have to confront
somewhat similar losses: the death of a loved one. But Sheridan, at the last,
was willing to suck in the pain and do what was right, however much it grieved
him, and forego revenge...Londo, on the other hand, has embraced revenge.

                                                                    jms

[ Summary: Hopes that the complete "Severed Dreams" battle score will be
on the new Franke CD, because it "is a great piece of music." Also hopes
that JMS can go back and re-edit, re-mix and re-CGI the pilot eventually,
as it "would go a ways to improving the overall saga." ]
