Dear jms,

Before I go on, I must give the pre-requisite and deserved congrats on a fine 
show.
I just finished re-watching episodes from the first season, and I love them 
more and more
with every viewing. However, my fave continues to be "The Fall of Night". This 
show has defined what TV sci-fi and general TV writing should be, I wish it 
received more recognition.

OK, the reason I wrote was to give you some info on Australian ratings.
**Babylon 5 averages a national audience of about 160,000 people per week, 
which is a 3 rating. It suffered in its 11:00pm timeslot on channel SEVEN 
because in the major Australian markets, it was up against "Voyager" and "Deep 
Space Nine" on channel NINE, which rated an average of  6 and 8.5 
respectively. Channel NINE bought the rights to subsequent seasons of B5, so 
it will not be going up against these two shows in the future, giving B5 
potentially higher ratings next year.**

Hope that proved to be mildly interesting.

And here's some great info: I've mentioned that we've been consistently
growing in ratings, and the second episode back, "Grey 17," hit #19 in the
ratings, so we're back in the top 20 for the first time in quite a while!

I've mentioned before the slow upward tracking, from 60s to 50s to 40s,
and then to 30s...and now we're right smack into the top 20 (as per this
past Friday's Daily Variety).  We're very pleased.
