CONGRATULATIONS TO BABYLON FIVE AND THE CREW AND CAST
on the occasion of having won the 1996 Hugo Award
for Best Dramatic Presentation, of "THE COMING OF SHADOWS."

There was a rather large gap in the voting between B-5
and the next runner-up, a historical movie shot on a budget
about fifty times larger.....

And the scene from "THE COMING OF SHADOWS" that was played
as part of the award ceremony displayed considerably good
writing and acting.... and included FX and explosions only
peripherally. It appears the fan voters are actually paying
attention to the *MATERIAL*....

The audience reaction showed how the voters felt, and JMS
gave one of the nicer acceptance speeches we've ever heard.

Congratulations on the FIRST one, Joe...... now just wait
'til next year.........
*GRIN*

"The Visitor" was a damn good episode of Deep Space Nine, unlike some of the
crap that was served up this season.

However, "The Coming Of Shadows" was well deserved.

It's correct that I was wrong; I'd assumed, because 12 Monkeys was listed
last on the announcement of nominations, that that was the one that had
been added when we pulled "Fall." And we all know what happens when we
assume....
